Bikinis and ballgowns: Australian fashion week 2016 – a photo essay

From sparkling gowns by honor Diamond State la Renta to fluorescent bikinis by Greek deity Rowley, there was an eclectic mixture of article of clothing on the catwalks of Carriageworks in Sydney – home of Australian fashion week – this year. Our photographer Jonny Weeks captured the action on the runways and went behind the scenes ahead of shows by Australian designers like Christopher Esber and Daniel Avakian



This year was the 21st day of remembrance of Australia fashion week and the initial during which the event had touched from its ancient spring/summer squeeze Apr to become a 'resort'-themed showcase control in could that specialize in wear and athleisure. There were over 50 shows, with famous models as well as Bella Hadid and Winnie Harlow among those taking half.
